 MULADE RAISES ALARM OVER MASSIVE OIL SPILL, CALLS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EMERGENCY IN DELTA Delta State-born environmental rights and peace advocate, Chief (Comrade) Mulade Sheriff, PhD, has called on the Federal Government, Delta State Government and relevant regulatory agencies to immediately declare an environmental emergency following a major oil spill reportedly affecting several host communities in Warri South-West and Burutu Local Government Areas of Delta State. Mulade made the call in a statement issued on Wednesday, describing the incident as an environmental disaster capable of causing long-term ecological damage if urgent intervention is not undertaken.  ENVIRONMENT DISASTER: MULADE RAISES ALARM OVER ENVIRONMENTAL THREATS, URGES DELTA GOVERNMENT TO REGULATE DREDGING ACTIVITIES Environmental and peace advocate, Chief (Comrade) Mulade Sheriff, PhD, has called on the Delta State Government to urgently strengthen environmental protection measures, warning that unchecked dredging activities across the state could trigger serious environmental disasters and threaten critical infrastructure. Chief Mulade, who made the call in a statement, expressed concern that several dredging operations are being carried out close to major roads, highways and bridges without adequate regard for their long-term environmental impact.
