 MULADE RAISES ALARM OVER MASSIVE OIL SPILL, CALLS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EMERGENCY IN DELTA Delta State-born environmental rights and peace advocate, Chief (Comrade) Mulade Sheriff, PhD, has called on the Federal Government, Delta State Government and relevant regulatory agencies to immediately declare an environmental emergency following a major oil spill reportedly affecting several host communities in Warri South-West and Burutu Local Government Areas of Delta State. Mulade made the call in a statement issued on Wednesday, describing the incident as an environmental disaster capable of causing long-term ecological damage if urgent intervention is not undertaken.
