GOVERNOR IFEANYI OKOWA HAS GIVEN A RESOUNDING ACCOUNT OF HIMSELF IN THE LAST 6YEARS - SSA TO GOV. ON SECURITY, HON GODWIN OBIE

As Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa marks six years on the saddle in the administration of the state , his Senior Special Assistant on Security Matters, Hon Godwin Obie has hailed his development initiative across the state describing it as unprecedented.

The Senior  Special Assistant to Governor on Security Matters, disclosed that, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who identified security is key to development has ensured there is peace and security in the state, through his calculated programmes and policies on security.

Hon Obie listed one of such Programmes to include the setting up of operation Delta Hawk to address the problems of farmers/herders clashes, kidnapping, armed robbery and other security challenges in the state.

He added that, this has drastically reduced crime rate in the state to its barest minimum and has made the state the destination of investors as well as boost socio-economic activities.

On road construction, Hon Obie noted that, Governor Okowa has constructed over five hundred roads across the state even in  the riverine areas, considered as difficult terrians by past governments, and in recognition of this uncommon feat, Deltans have given him the nick-name “Road Master”.

The SSA on Security Matters stressed that, these roads have made many communities hitherto cut off from other parts of the state to be accessible thereby reducing the hardship fav d by residents and boosting socio-economic activities in those areas.

He added that, one of the biggest achievements of Governor Okowa is in the area of flood control in the state Capital Asaba which has successfully put a stop to the perennial flood problem in the area which has led to loss of lives and property in the past.

The Governor's Aide gave Governor Okowa thumbs up for the ongoing construction of storm drainages in Warri, Uvwie and environs to check the perennial flooding in the areas.

Hon Obie noted that, Governor Okowa remains a promise keeper, who is committed to the even development of the state, applauded him for the recent upgrade of three institutions in the state to universities, noting that it will solve the higher educational needs of Delta State students.

He added that, the massive construction of Secondary Schools across the state especially Technical Colleges to meet modern trend in the world has endeared the Governor to the heart of Deltans.

He said, Governor Okowa is regarded as a youth friendly and gender sensitive Governor, as he has through his STEP and YAGEP schemes, trained and empowered thousands of youths and women across the three Senatorial districts,  many of which are gainfully employed and employers of labour.

Hon Obie, added that, the widows scheme of the Governor, where widows are paid monthly stipends have shown that Dr Okowa is a man with the heart of gold and cares for the down trodden in the state.

He observed that, Governor Okowa has in the last six years change the face of health care delivery in the State, with the renovation and upgrade of facilities in Government Hospitals across the state.

Hon Obie said a careful assessment of the six years of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration in Delta State, shows total commitment to his Stronger Delta Agenda and urged Deltans to reciprocate his good works by doubling their support for him.
