JEDDO COMMUNITY GETS NEW OLOTUS TO WORK FOR THE PEACE IN THE LAND
The Unu Amua of Jeddo Community, in Okpe LGA, Mr George Owarume has charged Olotus in the community to work with security agents on order to ensure the security of lives and property in the fast growing Community.
Mr Owarume who made the call at the Ogwaledion of Jeddo Community, noted that security is a necessary tool for development.
The Unu Amua of Jeddo Community, in Okpe LGA, Mr George Owarume said Jeddo Community is one of the fastest growing communities in the State as a result of its closeness to the twin cities of Warri and Effurun.
He noted that, the growing population of the community has resulted in some security and infrastructural challenges and to tackle these challenges, the Community has installed two Olotus, Deacon Moses Omas-Igben and Mr Friday Omamomo-Ighaghara, who are experienced in security to ensure security of lives and property n Udumurhe and Udumu Agworo Quarters, in the community.
Mr George Owarume who noted that community policing remains the best form of tackling insecurity in the country, disclosed that the two Olotus will work with security agents and the leadership of the community in the discharge of their duty.
The Unu Amua of Jeddo Community commended Delta State government for the on going Jeddo road expansion and drainage projects, expressed confidence that when completed it will solve the problem of traffic gridlock in the community.
He appealed for the tarring of internal roads in the community, competion of the second phase of the Old Okpe Road to link the community to the popular Sapele Road and the upgrade of the Jeddo Health Centre to a Cottage Hospital.
Duke of Ughoton District, Okakuru Robert Onome and former Unu Amua of Jeddo Community, Mr Solomon Bayagbon
urged the two Olotus to discharge their duty withing the ambit of the law, noting that security is key to the development of any society.
The two Olotus, Deacon Moses Omas-Igben and Mr Friday Omamomo-Ighaghara in their separate interviews thanked God and the leaders of the community for the opportunity to serve and promised not to disappoint them.
They sued for the corporation of the Community leaders and residents, by giving them valuable information and support to enable them succeed.
Some residents of Jeddo community who spoke described the ceremony as timely, noting that, such move will attract investors to the community.
