Prominent personalities and groups from within and outside Delta State have continued to visit the Palace of the Olu of Warri to commiserate with the Itsekiri nation over the royal passage of their monarch, Ogiame Ikenwoli.
The recent are some Prominent personalities from the Ijaw extraction led by the Fieyewei of Ogbe Ijoh Warri Kingdom, Chief Favour Izoukumor.
Correspondent reports that the delegations were received at the Ode Itsekiri Palace of the Olu of Warri by the Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi and others top Itsekiri Chiefs.
Since the commencement of the two weeks long final royal rites of passage of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli at the ancestral home of the Itsekiris, the palace of the Olu which has been a beehive of activities has continued to play host to prominent personalities and groups.
On the day twelve of the two weeks long final royal rites of passage of the Olu of Warri, some delegation led by the Fieyewei of Ogbe Ijoh Warri Kingdom, Chief Favour Izoukumor also visited the palace to commiserate with their Itsekiri neighbours.
Chief Favour Izoukumor who spoke to newsmen, said that the departed Olu of Warri Ogiame Ikenwoli was a lover of peace.
"Ogiame Ikenwoli preached and promoted peaceful coexistence between the Itsekiri nation and her neighbours" he stated.
Chief Favour Izoukumor who is the PDP Chairman for Warri South West Council Area and a one time DESOPADEC Commissioner representing the good people of Ijaw Ethnic Nationality noted that, under the reign of Ogiame Ikenwoli's the Itsekiri nation witnessed tremendous peace and progress.
He described the departed Olu as a monarch that was highly respected for his benevolence and a detribalized monarch in nature
Chief Favour Izoukumor prayed God to grant the soul of Ogiame Ikenwoli eternal rest.
He equally congratulated the Itsekiri on their successful selection of an Olu Designate and called on all Itsekiris to work together to ensure a successful transition.
Chief Favour Izoukumor also urged the Olu Designate to consolidate on the gains of his predecessor by sustaining the peaceful coexistence with their neighbours.
Speaking on behalf of the Itsekiri nation, the Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi thanked the Ijaw Chiefs for their visit and assured them of a peaceful transition.
Various dance groups were on ground singing beautiful Itsekiri songs to bid farewell to their monarch as well as thrilled the guests with beautiful Itsekiri cultural dances.
Ogiame Ikenwoli was the twentieth Olu of Warri.
Amongst those on the entourage with Chief Favour Izoukumor were the Executive Assistant to the Delta State Deputy Governor, on security Chief Joel Ogbonna, SA to the Delta State Governor on community development Chief Harrison Gbenekama JP, The Vice Chairman PDP Warri South West Honourable Joe Arubi, the woman leader PDP Warri South West Honourable Christiana Omamofe, the coordinator of PDP Warri South West Political Alliance WSWPA, Honourable Solomon Eyione.
