CHIEF SEGUN BRUME, SON OF LATE URHOBO ICON AND ELDERSTATESMAN, MAJOR GENERAL JOHN ESIO ORHO OBADA (RTD) OFR, DESCRIBES FATHER AS AN UNFORGETABLE HERO.
One year after his demise, beloved son of late Urhobo Icon and elderstatesman, Major General John Esio Orho Obada (retired) OFR, have described his father as an unforgettable hero, whose demise is still being felt by the family.
In a statement to mark the one year remembrance of Major General John Esio Orho Obada (retired) OFR, signed by his son, Chief Segun Brume Obada, he said his father was a distinguished military officer and gentleman who fought gallantly for the peace and unity of Nigeria.
He noted that late General Obada’s brought pride and respect to the Urhobo nation and the Obada family, as his service records were unblemished and outstanding.
Chief Segun Brume Obada explained that, General Obada devoted his energy, experience and influence to the service of Nigeria, Bendel and later Delta State, the Urhobo nation as well as his Agbarho community after his retirement.
He further said, their father and Urhobo patriot, promoted peace, security and stability when served with humility as President-General of Agbarho Kingdom, 2nd Deputy President-General of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) and the Chairman of its Board of Trustees until his transition adding that his exploits during these periods are there for all to see.
The son of General Obada noted that his father was a pious Christian who spent his life in the service of God and humanity.
Chief Segun Brume Obada added that, General Obada was a benevolent man, whose philantropic works spoke volumes of him while alive.
He noted that, his father touched the lives of many persons especially the less privileged ones, physically challenged, sick and downtrodden.
Chief Segun Brume Obada added his father, was a loving patriarch of the Obada family, who stood as a strong pillar, lending helping hands to all including those not related to him, even to his own hurt.
He noted that, one year after his demise, the family, Agbarho Kingdom and entire Urhobo nation still misses him for his love, care, benevolence and invaluable words of advice, noting that he left a big shoe that will be difficult to fill but expressed happiness that their father lives a fulfilled life.
He said his father was a loving and caring father, who brought his children up in the ways of the Lord, hence they are making waves in their various fields of endeavours.
Chief Segun Brume thanked God for giving him such a man as a father,who left behind a godly legacy, and promised to follow the legacy of his loving father.
Chief Segun Brume Obada prayed God to continue to grant him eternal rest in His bossom.
