DELTA 2023: UPU COMMITTEE WOOS NDOKWA NATION FOR URHOBO GOV 

The Urhobo Progress Union UPU Committee for Urhobo Governor 2023 on Tuesday took their consultation to Ndokwa Nation to solicit their support for an Urhobo Governor after the tenure of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in 2023.

The leader of the delegation Olorogun Anthony Onoharigho in his speech said that going by the zoning formula, it is the turn of Urhobo to produce the next Delta State Governor.

Members of the Urhobo Progress Union UPU Committee for Urhobo Governor 2023 led by its Chairman Olorogun Anthony Onoharigho in company of the twenty four Presidents General of Urhobo Nation were received by leadership of Ndokwa Nation at the residence of its President General, General Mike Ndubisi retired in his country home at Ezhionun Community.

After the usual formalities, the Chairman of the delegation Olorogun Anthony Onoharigho told the leadership of Ndokwa Nation that their visit is to come solicit their support in making the Urhobo 2023 Governorship ambition a reality.


Olorogun Anthony Onoharigho who is the First Deputy President General UPU Worldwide, said that the body has consult widely with the Isoko and Itsekiri Nations, adding that the Ijaw nation will also be consulted.

He told the Ndokwa Nation that as a close neighbor to the Urhobo, supporting the Urhobo Governorship ticket will be beneficial to both nations.


He stated that the objective of the body is not for a particular political party but one geared to producing an Urhobo Governor that will  carry every tribe in the state along in the scheme things.


Olorogun Anthony Onoharigho who spoke on the issue of zoning, lauded the former Governor of Delta State, Olorogun James Ibori for introducing it, adding that going by the zoning pattern it is the turn of the Urhobo to produce the next Governor of Delta State.


Responding, the President General of Ndokwa Nation, General Mike Ndubisi retired in his address told the Urhobo Progress Union UPU Committee for Urhobo Governor 2023 that they have heard their message.


General Ndubisi retired, added that as a people they are going to sit together, brainstorm and thereafter make their position know to the UPU body.
