In continuation of the Ijaw quest for Governor come 2023, the Delta Ijaw for Governor 2023 delegation on Tuesday lobbied Traditional Rulers in Urhobo nation and Leadership of the Urhobo Progress Union UPU.



The Leader of the Ijaw 2023 delegation Alaowei Broderick Bozimo said that the Ijaw 2023 ambition is for the general good of the state including the Urhobo people.


The first port of call for the Delta Ijaw for Governor 2023 delegation after leaving Oteri Community Ughelli was the palace of the Ovie of Olomu kingdom where they were received by the Traditional Rulers from Urhobo Land.



Alaowei Broderick Bozimo after the usual formalities went straight to their mission by telling the traditional rulers that their mission is to preach the gospel of Ijaw Governor come 2023.



Alaowei Broderick Bozimo stated that the Ijaw as an ethnic nationality is also in the race and thus solicited the the royal fathers prayers of the Urhobo Monarchs for the success of their quest.



Also at the UPU Secretariat in Uvwiamuge Agbarho Ughelli, the Delta Ijaw for Governor 2023 delegation were received by the leadership of the Urhobo Umbrella body.



Alaowei Broderick Bozimo who told the UPU leadership that they are aware of their Governorship ambition, implored them to also consider that the Ijaw are equally qualify to govern the state after the tenure of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa come 2023.

Speaking on behalf of the Urhobo Monarchs, the Ovie of Olomu kingdom told the Ijaw 2023 delegation that as royal fathers they are apolitical but will give prayers to any tribes nursing Governorship ambition.

The Olomu Monarch however implored all lobbying for 2023 Governorship race to go about it orderly.

For of UPU Worldwide Olorogun Moses Taiga who responded to the message of the Ijaw delegation, told them that what they are seeking for the Urhobo are as well seeking for the same.

He appealed to the Ijaw delegation to allow the Senatorial District rotational formula to stand, adding that it is the turn of the Urhobo and after which the Urhobo will support the Ijaw who he said is a very close neighbor.

The Urhobo Monarchs later offered prayers to the Ijaw 2023 delegation for the success of their quest.
