DONOKOROMO ROYAL FAMILY OF ISABA KINGDOM DESCRIBES THE SELECTION OF PERE DESIGNATE AS ILLEGAL

Members of the ancient famous Donokoromo Royal Family of Isaba Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday  vehemently rejected in totally the illegal and unconstitutional manner of selection of a successor (PERE-ELECT) to ascend the exalted throne of Isaba Kingdom after the Royal Passage of HRM OGIAME, PERE DONOKOROMO II (JP), THE PERE OF ISABA KINGDOM.


The President General of the Donokoromo Royal Family, Prince Emmanuel Sekonidi who read the position of the royal family to members of the Press in Isaba Community said the true selection processes of a Pere has not be duly followed.



Prince Emmanuel Sekonidi described those going about the wrongful selection processes as unpatriotic person (interlopers) in Isaba Kingdom who called themselves “GBAFADE FRATERNITY”. They hold their clandestine meetings unnoticed and see themselves as the mouth piece and oracle of Isaba Kingdom.

He added that the persons involved in the illegal selection processes are disregarding and disrespecting the laid down oral customary laws of the Kingdom as regards the selection of a successor (PERE-ELECT) to the throne.

The PG of the Donokoromo Royal Family expressed their outright disagreement and rejection to the selection, adding that committee selection of candidates for the throne is alien, illegal unlawful, unconstitutional and never a practice in Isaba Kingdom from hitherto.


He affirmed that the succession to the throne of Isaba Kingdom is never rotational, but purely from the *Donokoromo Royal Family.*  

 

"The Isaba Traditional Council of Chief has no such powers to select a Successor to the exalted throne of Isaba Kingdom" he said.


"All selection processes concerning Successor to the throne is done primarily in Isaba and not outside the Kingdom, with laid down customary laws out rightly put aside and disrespected" he maintained.


He therefore gave the stand of the *DONOKOROMO ROYAL FAMILY OF ISABA KINGDOM*  to include the following, Status-quo must remain (unchanged), the Isaba customary law of inheritance (father to son) must be strictly adhered to as being the practice from 1480: with reference to the authentic document titled “Brief history of the stool of the Isaba Kingdom by Chief W A. Ogugu, the Ezomo/Fiewei of the Isaba Kingdom: The PERE of ISABA KINGDOM hereditary chart 1480 till date, it is only the Donokoromo Royal Family that has the right to select and present a successor to the throne (A PRINCE) male child, Confirmation of a Successor to the throne is done finally by the Supreme being (GOD)/Traditional Oracle of Isaba Kingdom, nobody can be crowned or installed as (PERE) in Isaba Kingdom without the final verdict from the Supreme being (GOD)/TRADITIONAL ORACLE of the land, Successor to the throne after the confirmation of the Supreme being (GOD)/Traditional Oracle must undergo three months spiritual exercise and traditional rites in Isaba, the customary laws, traditions, beliefs of Isaba Kingdom cannot or will never be changed overnight by any individuals or groups, the Donokoromo Royal Family is resolute in our determination not to stand idle and aloof and watch our God given heritage and right be taken away by interlopers who know nothing about the “stool” of Isaba Kingdom.

The Donokoromo Royal Family however pleaded with the indefatigable Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, His, Deputy, Barrister (Deacon) Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, The Delta State Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, The Delta State Commissioner of Police, The Honourable Speaker/Honourable Members Delta State House of Assembly Asaba, The DPO Ogbe-ijoh Divisional Police Headquarters Ogbe-ijoh, and other relevant government agencies to please to wade into the matter.


"It is a hand work of well organized centrifugal force who are bent and interested in capturing the exalted throne at all cost and means from the rightful owners, (THE DONOKOROMO ROYAL FAMILY).This mischief apostles are fanning crisis and want to cause total breakdown of law and order in Isaba Kingdom" he stated.


"As a Reputable Royal Family of High Excellence, we have gone to a court of competent jurisdiction, The High Court of Justice, Warri Judicial Division, Warri to file our case with suit No W/65/2021 dated 25th March, 2021 as (CLAIMANTS) to seek justice and not to be confrontational" he disclosed.


He finally called on the Governor who he described as an advocate of the Rule of Law to order the (Defendants) and their cohorts to stop all their unlawful activities and processes of selecting a potential successor, to ascend the throne of Isaba Kingdom until the court delivers judgement.
