..... ENGINEER QUEEN CHIGBO CALLS ON YOUTHS TO USE THEIR YOUTHFULNESS TO ADVANCE THE SOCIETY.

As youths in Nigeria join their counterparts across the globe to celebrate International Youth Day on August 12, the Director General of PHEW Foundation International Engineer Queen Chigbo has called on Nigerian Youths to use their youthfulness to advance the society.


Engineer Queen Chigbo made the call on Thursday August 12 2021 via her message to commemorate this year's International Youth Day 2021


The DG PHEW Foundation International stated that the youths in any society are the engine room of any society.


" Youths are the engine room of any society and as such they should take advantage of their youthfulness to run the country on the path of sustainable growth and development" she said.


" Any society that did not acknowledge the importance of the youths will not develop rapidly" the PHEW Foundation International DG maintained.


Engineer Queen Chigbo who commented on the current crop of youths in Nigeria that rely on fraud to making ends meet, appealed to them to refrain from such.


" Youths should channel their strength on productive ventures and not on yahoo yahoo or other socio vices that will jeopardize their bright futures" she added.


She equally admonished Nigerian Youths to put their energies in Agriculture such as  Poultry, Fishery etc, pointing out that such will ensure food sufficiency which is in line with the Sustainable Development Goal SDG 2 in making the youths  more relevant to themselves and the society" she emphasized.


Engineer Queen Chigbo however lauded President Mohammadu Buhari and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for their empowerment programs for Nigerian Youths especially in the area of Agriculture and other skills acquisition trainings.


She equally charged Nigerian Youths to take advantage of the empowerment programs at the federal and state levels to better their lots.


Engineer Queen Chigbo encouraged Nigerian Youths to go into agriculture either part time or full time by ensuring that they register their farms with CAC or Cooperative society to enable them receive Support from the Government or any other organized body when such is available.


"To avoid youths indulgence in irregular migration and Human trafficking, engagement in Agriculture is one of the ways to curb it" she said.



The theme of this year's  International Youth Day 2021 is, “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”, with the aim of highlighting that the success of such a global effort will not be achieved without the meaningful participation of young people.
