DELTA CP VISITS NBTC; EMPHASIZES THE POLICE FORCE READINESS TO COMBAT CRIME IN THE STATE

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ari Mohammed has reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force in the state to get rid of crime and social vices in the state.

Mr Mohammed stated this on Friday when he led his team to the premises of Niger Benue Transport Company NBTC limited in Ovwian in Udu local government area on a familiarization visit to the company.


Correspondent Omonigho Edaah reports that the Chairman, Board of Directors NBTC Olorogun Moses Taiga pledged the readiness of the company to support the Police force in its operations.

Mr Mohammed in his speech said that since he mounted the saddle as Commissioner for Police in the state, the rate of crime has reduced adding that the Nigerian Police need the support of critical stakeholders and members of the public in ensuring a crime free society.



He however sounded a message of warning to criminals in the state to refrain from crime or be made to face the wrath of the law when apprehended.

Earlier, the Chairman, Board of Directors NBTC Olorogun Moses Taiga in his speech said that the company is very ready to partner with the Police.

Olorogun Taiga expressed optimism that the meeting between the Police and the company will be of mutual benefits.

The Managing Director of NBTC, Mrs. Oluyede Seyi, also told the Delta Police Boss that the company which is a major player in the marine industry has been working with other security agencies in the state. 

President-General of Udu Community, Chief Godwin Notoma commended the Police Commissioner for the visit noting that there has been relative peace since Mr. Mohammed came on board.

The familiarization visit of the State Police Commissioner to NBTC limited is part of efforts by the Command to build bridges of friendship with captains of Industry in the fight against crime in the state.
