SIR EDEJEGHWRO JOINS GOVERNORSHIP RACE.
Two time Commissioner in Delta State, Sir Bright Edejeghwro has bowed to pressure as he signified his interest to fly the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State gubernatorial election come 2023.
Sir Edejeghwro a former Councillor and Transition Committee Chairman of Uvwie LGA made his intention known when hundreds of youths from the twenty-five Local Government Areas of the State paid him a visit to appeal to him to run for the Governorship Seat of the State.
The former Commissioner for Science and Technology, Sir Bright Edejeghwro commended the youths for their support for him noting that, several prominent Deltans and groups had called on him to run for the Governorship Seat of the state on 2023.
He noted that, after a wide consultation and serious prayers, he has decided to run for the Governorship position of the state in 2023.
Sir Edejeghwro said he has garnered a lot of experience from the various positions he has held and has developed a bond of friendship across the state, which will help him clinch the ticket of the PDP during the primaries.
He stressed that, he is a true Deltan who hails Paternally from Delta Central Senatorial District, maternally from Delta North and link with Delta South.
The former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs who assured the youths that he would consolidate on the achievements of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa whom he refered as his father, called on Deltans to give him all the necessary support.
Speaking on behalf of youths drawn from the twenty-five Local Government Areas of the state, Comrade Mighwe Endurance from Udu LGA said after a careful survey across the State, they choose Sir Bright Edejeghwro to run for the Governorship Seat of Delta State come 2023.
He explained that, Sir Edejeghwro is a detribalized, experienced and academically sound Deltan, who will represent the youths very well if he emerges as Governor of the State in 2023.
Comrade Irikefe Adjorhore from Okpe LGA, Comrade Great Okuoboya and President of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom Youth Council, Comrade Alfred Warri said Sir Edejeghwro is a trusted follower of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who who can take over and sustain his legacies and consolidate on the gains of his administration.
One after the other, representatives from the twenty-five LGAs urged Sir Bright Edejeghwro to run for the Governorship Seat of the state and promised to stand behind him.
The ceremony was witnessed by PDP chieftain in Uvwie LGA, Hon Kingsley Urumudje and Hon Glory Utuedon among others.
