PRESIDENT GENERAL OF AUIU SAYS MURDER AT OSUVIE PALACE UNCONNECTED WITH KINGSHIP TUSSLE.b

The President General of Agbarho Urhobo Improvement Union, AUIU, Chief Monday Igho Odiphri has said the murder of a youth at the Palace of the Osuvie of Agbarho Kingdom on Friday is not connected to the kingship tussle in the kingdom.


 Speaking to Newsmen, Chief Odiphri said the unfortunate incident occured on Friday following altercation between some youths and the Vigilante attached to the palace. 


He explained that, the deceased and some of his friends had in the previous day were at the Palace and hit the gate of the palace destroying part of it.


He noted that, the same group of boys returned to the palace the next day and when they  were not allowed in, they began to fight with the Vigilante members.


Chief Odiphri said the boys stabbed two of the Vigilante members and was trying to attack the third one, when he shot at him in self defence.

He condemned the act of violence being perpetuated by the group of boys and blamed the Vigilante members for shooting the boy, noting that his action was too extreme.


Chief Odiphri noted that the incident was not in anyway connected to the Kingship tussle in Agbarho Kingdom and warned rumour mongers to stay clear of the Kingdom's affair.


He noted that the matter has been reported to the Police and those involved are already on custody.


The President General of AUIU urged the Police to do a thorough investigation of the matter and ensure justice is done.


He assured all that Agbarho is peaceful and called on investors to take advantage of it to invest in the Kingdom.
