*ASSOCIATION AGAINST CHILD SEXUAL AND GENDER BASED VIOLENCE BAGS CERTIFICATE OF HONOUR AWARD FROM DELTA STATE GOVT*

Association Against Child Sexual and Gender Based Violence was recently recognized with a certificate of honour award by the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Civic Engagement and Civil Society Activist.



Bladenews24 correspondent reports that the recognition of honour award was presented to the Initiator of the Association Against Child Sexual and Gender Based Violence Ambassador Eris Jewo-Ibi by the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Civic Engagement and Civil Society Activist Comrade Rex Anighoro on the occasion of the commemoration of the 2021 International Civil Society Day held at Unity Hall Government House Asaba.


Comrade Rex Anighoro in his speech said that the recognition on the Association Against Child Sexual and Gender Based Violence was due to the Association's  response referral services to women, girls and children facing different forms of violence and abuse at the community level.



Comrade Rex Anighoro lauded the Association Against Child Sexual and Gender Based Violence for its endless contributions and supports to promoting young people across the state voluntary.


For her part, the Initiator of the Association Ambassador Eris Jewo-Ibi who is also the Executive Director and Chairperson of Working Fingers International Initiative, expressed appreciation to the Delta State government headed by His Excellency Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for recognizing the body's contributions to humanities and the society at large.

Ambassador Eris Jewo-Ibi added that the honour will spur the body to doing more in meeting its set goals and objectives.


With much excitement at the recognition of the Association's intervention, Ambassador Eris Jewo-Ibi, Executive Director Working Fingers International Initiative and the initiator of the group expressed surprise and joy over the Award. 


According to her, at the 2020 edition of the Delta Civil Society Day in Delta State, she bagged the Doyen of Civil Society Award as the "Civil Society Woman of the Year" adding that in 2021, she has bagged the *Delta State Civil Society Gender Champion of the year* 

Amb Eris Jewo-Ibi also thanked the Delta State Governor, His Excellency Senator Dr Ifeanyi Author Okowa for encouraging the Community Based Actors, especially for giving two strong members from the Civil Society Organizations Barrister Bridget Anyafulu and Activist Rex Anighoro space in his government.  


Ambassador Eris Jewo-Ibi described the duo as great activists who did not get to the top and forget members of their constituency but have made all deliberate efforts in moving the CSOs movement to higher level through constant capacity building and Advocacy involvement.


Amb Eris Jewo-Ibi who is also a Peace Ambassador however dedicated the certificate of honour award to all Gender Based crusaders 🏆 for the good work they are doing in championing the fight against any forms of gender based violence
