FIRE OUTBREAK: MANY RENDERS HOMELESS AS INFERNO DESTROYED HOMES AND PROPERTY IN EGBEMINE-OROPA ISLAND COMMUNITY.

The people of Egbemene-Oropa Island Community of Ogbe Ijoh Warri Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State are counting their losses,. following an early morning inferno that razed the community.

Bladenews24 correspondent who visited the community reported that the inferno was allegedly caused by a candle lit in a home.

Residents are lamenting that they have  been homeless in the blaze that swept through the community, destroying property worth millions of naira as it raged. 

When Bladenews24 News crew got to Egbemine-Oropa Island Community of Ogbe Ijoh Warri Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area there was a sorry tale of waste and desolation all around.

Some residents were seen trying to salvage whatever property that could still be useful from the ruins left behind after the fire razed most homes in the community. 

Narrating what happened some of the victims including Chief Francis Poun-Esan, Collins Kemefa alleged that the fire started from a candle which was not put off.

They said the fire after engulfing the house where it started spread quickly through the affected houses in the community destroying other houses on its path.

They said the inferno had rendered them homeless and estimated their losses at millions of naira.

They appealed to the State Government through the member representing Warri South West Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly Honourable Dennis Emomotimi Guwor, and the commissioner representing Ijaw ethnic nationality on the board of DESOPADEC Dr Paul Bebenimibo as well as other stakeholders to urgently come to their assistance. 

The people asked for  relief materials and other support to alleviate their suffering.

The councilor representing Ward 12 in the Warri South West legislative arm of government, Honourable Governor Stanley who also visited the people sympathized with them and urged them not to despair but to put their trust in God.

Honourable Governor who is also the Deputy Leader of the Warri South West legislative appealed to the victims to remain calm assuring them that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa will come to their aid
