PHEW FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL CALLS FOR JUSTICE FOR SYLVESTER OROMONI JR DEATH

A Warri based non governmental organization NGO PHEW FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL has called on the government of Lagos State and other authority unraveling the circumstances behind the death of one twelve years old student of Dowen College Sylvester Oromoni Jr to carry out a thorough investigation into what led to his sudden death.


The Director General of the Foundation Engineer Queen Chigbo stated this on Friday in Warri while reacting to the death of the young lad who his parent had sent to acquire education.


" It is painful for any parent or guardian who send their children or wards to instead of acquiring education will meet his or her untimely death for whatever cause" she said.


According to Engineer Queen Chigbo the alleged confession of late Sylvester Oromoni Jr that some of his school mates have hands in what led to his untimely death is enough for the investigative panel to get to the root of his death.


Engineer Queen Chigbo who added that the death of Sylvester Oromoni Jr is a painful one, called on justice to be melted on anyone found culpable in the outcome of the investigation.


The PHEW FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL DG who differ with the Dowen College school authority claimed that Sylvester Oromoni Jr sustained injury while playing football emphasized that with the claims of the lad's parent that he could have been beaten up or given a substance to take clearly indicate that a proper autopsy needs to be carried out on the deceased body to ascertain the root cause of his death.


Engineer Queen Chigbo who alleged that the child before his death told his parent that five students came to his hostel to beat him up as well as gave him a something to drink, call for the five boys to be questioned.


Engineer Queen Chigbo equally used the medium to charged children to speak out on time whenever they are going through pains or being bullied by anyone.


The PHEW FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL DG added that PHEW as a renowned foundation strongly condemned any sort of violence against children and as such will be interested to see that Sylvester Oromoni Jr get justice by ensuring that the perpetrators are made to face the long hand of the law.

Dowen College in Lekki Lagos State has been closed by the Lagos State government  pending the outcome of the investigation report.
