MEMBERS OF WARRI PEOPLE'S PROGRESSIVE UNION GIVES LIFELINE TO OBRUCHE ORPHANAGE WARRI

As part of efforts to put smiles on faces of Orphans, members of the Warri People's Progressive Union on Friday visited Obruche Orphanage at Okere Ugborikoko where scholarship were given to three children up to university level as well as pay the rent of the home as well as donate food stuffs to them.
Bladenews24 reports that the Chairman of body Mr Apresai Ekiyo said that the gesture to the orphanage was borne out of love in giving back to the society.
Members of the Warri People's Progressive Union on Friday morning started their visit to Obruche Orphanage at Okere Ugborikoko with a charity walk from Estate Okumagba to the orphanage.
The Chairman of the Warri People's Progressive Union Mr Apresai Ekiyo while speaking to newsmen said that the body which was founded as a result of showing love amongst friends many years ago has now grown into reaching out to the less privileged in the society.
Mr Ekiyo who stated that charity begins at home added that the decided of the body to visit the orphanage was to fulfill the phrase by assisting the orphanage in their own little way.
He disclosed that the body has also lined up plans to visit communities in the metropolis of Warri to provide them with social amenities.
He however lauded all who have supported the body in meeting set goals and objectives.
Speaking in a similar vein, the Vice Chairman of the body Mr Tovo Onyoh in an interview emphasized that the body which motto is Unity and Integrity also has a mandate of working for the peace of Warri where the Urhobos, Ijaws, itesekiris will be one wafarian.
The Public Relations Officer PRO of the body Mr Iyobosa Iyamu said that it is a thing of joy for the body in this yuletide of celebration to celebrate with the children.
The matron of Obruche Orphanage Bishop Oghenevwede Abiye-Sibi in her words of appreciation thanked the Warri People's Progressive Union for assisting them.
The children of the home also took out time to thrilled members of the body to melodious Christmas carol and other presentation.
The visit was later climaxed with the formal Presentation of the three hundred thousand naira cheque for the rent of the home, as well as various food stuffs.
