THREE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PERSONS GET BRAND NEW WHEELCHAIRS COURTESY DAME EDITH OKOWA

Three physically challenged persons Helen Oke, Umukoro Eloho and Collins Onaijomo promised wheelchairs by the wife of the Delta State Governor Dame Edith Okowa on Monday received their wheelchairs.

The Delta State Coordinator of South South Professional Women Association Dr Joyce Ogwezi during the official presentation of the wheelchairs to the three beneficiaries at the Uvwie Council Secretariat thanked the governor's wife for fulfilling her promise by putting smiles on their faces through her O5 Initiative.

Dr Joyce Ogwezi who was full of praises to the Delta State Governor's wife said that the gesture of the wheelchairs no doubt will go a very long way to aid movement of the physically challenged persons from one point to the other.

Dr Joyce Ogwezi equally commended the Uvwie Council Chairman Honourable Ranson Onoyeke for helping out with the process that led to the provision of the wheelchairs.

For his part, the Uvwie Council Chairman Honourable Ranson Onoyake who was represented by the Secretary of the Council Elder Margaret Obiko said that his administration is passionate at identifying with both physically challenged persons and able body persons.

Honourable Ranson Onoyake expressed joy that the three beneficiaries with their brand new wheelchairs will no longer have to crawl on the floor while moving.

The three elated physically challenged persons Helen Oke, Umukoro Eloho and Collins Onaijomo in their separate interviews said that movement has been very difficult for them in the past.

They thanked the governor's wife Dame Edith Okowa who through her O5 Initiative has come to their aids in providing them with the new wheelchairs.

Helen Oke, Umukoro Eloho and Collins Onaijomo who all came crawling are now leaving riding on their wheelchairs.
