DBS WARRI STAFF TRAINS ON NEW MARKETING STRATEGIES

A three day workshop on new marketing strategies for broadcast media put together by Delta Broadcasting Service DBS Warri Board in conjunction with the Delta State Chapter of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria APCON has been flagged off by the board Chairman DBS Warri Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza.


Bladenews24 correspondent reports that Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza said that as a board they see training and retraining of staff as a vital tool for promoting workers productivity.


The board Chairman DBS Warri Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza said that since the inauguration of the board, conscious efforts have been made with management of the station in ensuring that staff of the station is trained to strategically position DBS Warri in today's competitive broadcast world.


Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza who was represented by a director from the ministry of information Delta State Mr Lucky Omokri added that the workshop is essential as it will help to equip staff with new skills, relevant knowledge and abilities required to function more effectively in the performance of staff duties.


He however urged all participants of the three days training to maximize the training to improve themselves and in turn impact positively on the station's revenue base.


For his part, the General Manager of DBS Warri Pastor Malcolm Oteri in his remarks lauded the DBS Warri board Chairman and members for their passionate determination towards the uplifting of the station.


Pastor Malcolm Oteri implored the participants to go through the training with an open mind of learning and putting what they will be taught for the betterment of the station.


Similarly the Head of Marketing Department DBS Warri Madam Becky Ilori in her address described the training as the right step in the right direction in moving the station on the path of sustainable growth.


Some of the participants who spoke on the day one of the three days in house training including Mr Ufuoma Omologe, Mr Nelson Mukoro, Mr John Glover and Mr Gregson  Emoyawoyoma all said that it has all been an eye opener for them on new marketing strategies.


Two seasoned resource persons Mr Fred Umukoro and Mr Segun Manuel took the participants through on knowledge to excel in the marketing industry.
