ROTARY CLUB DISTRICT GOVERNOR OF ROTARY CLUB OF DISTRICT 9141 VISITS ZONE 20 & 21, UNVEILS POLIO BILLBOARD AND OVERSEES DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD ITEMS TO TESTIMONY ORPHANAGE SAPELE AND INMATES OF SAPELE CORRECTIONAL CENTER
As part of efforts to keep polio in Nigeria at zero level, Rotary Club Zone 20 and 21 of District 9141 on Tuesday unveiled a rotary polio billboard at Okeregwe in Sapele local government area of Delta State to help strengthen the campaign against polio in the area.
Bladenews24 correspondent reports that the District Governor of Rotary Club of District 9141 Rotarian Andy Uwejeyan who unveiled the billboard also oversee the donation of food items, cash, toiletries, to testimony Orphanage Sapele as well as providing three hundred takeaway foods to inmates of Sapele Correctional Center with buckets and toiletries to the inmates, done by Rotary Club of Sapele Gateway.
The District Governor of Rotary Club of District 9141 Rotarian Andy Uwejeyan flanked by the Assistant Governor of Zone 20 of District 9141 Rotarian Samuel Onoyungbo and Assistant Governor Zone 21 of same District, Rotarian Atiti Augustine Ogheneovo were received by the flower girl and other Rotarians.
The District Governor of Rotary Club of District 9141 Rotarian Andy Uwejeyan thereafter headed for the unveiling of the rotary polio billboard, from there to testimony Orphanage Sapele to donation food items, and cash to the Orphans with the District Governor given fifty thousand naira to the Orphans, as well as provision of three hundred takeaway food packs to inmates of the Sapele Correctional Center with buckets, toiletries amongst others items for them.
At the Sapele Correctional Center, the District Governor of Rotary Club of District 9141 Rotarian Andy Uwejeyan and the Rotary Club of Sapele Gateway President Rotarian Happy Tosan Mene who were touched by the news of a nursing inmate pledged to give fifty thousand naira each to the nursing inmate for the baby's up keep until she secure her freedom from the correctional center.
Rotarian Andy Uwejeyan in an interview said his visit to Sapele was part of measures as a district governor to see how the zone 20 and 21 under his district are doing.
He noted that rotary as a club has a duty of affecting the society positively by their humanitarian services.
Similarly the Assistant Governor of Zone 20 of District 9141, Rotarian Samuel Onoyungbo lauded rotary club of Sapele Gateway for fulfilling the mandate of rotary club.
For his part, the President of Rotary Club of Sapele Gateway Rotarian Happy Tosan Mene in an interview with newsmen said that rotary club under his headship has embarked on various people's oriented projects that have touched the lives of the people positively.
Rotarian Mene called on. MEMBER'S of the public to join the rotary club family in touching more lives.
In their separate thank you speeches Mrs Philomena Oboh who spoke on behalf of Testimony Orphanage Sapele and Second in Command of the Sapele Correctional Center Mr George Ealefoh both commended rotary club for identifying with them.
The District Governor of Rotary Club of District 9141 Rotarian Andy Uwejeyan later had a
club Assembly with all the clubs in Zone 20 and Zone 21 were they all rub minds on various issues as moving the different Rotary clubs forward.
