OKOBARO REWARDS ILLUSTRIOUS INDIGENES WITH CHIEFTAINCY TITLES, COMMENDS GOV. OKOWA FOR PEACE, DEVT IN UGHIEVWEN KINGDOM
The Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, HRM (Dr.) Matthew Ediri Egbi, JP, FoD, AMNSE, RDN, Owahwa II, has charged Chiefs of the Kingdom to be of good ambassadors of the kingdom and seek ways to promote peace and attract development to it.
The Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, HRM (Dr.) Matthew Ediri Egbi, JP, FoD, AMNSE, RDN, Owahwa II, gave this charge while confering chieftaincy titles on some illustrious sons and daughters of the Kingdom on Saturday.
The respected monarch said chieftaincy titles in Ughievwen Kingdom is not bought but given to well deserving sons and daughters who have distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavours and have contributed to the peace and progress of the kingdom.
The Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, HRM (Dr.) Matthew Ediri Egbi, JP, FoD, AMNSE, RDN, Owahwa II, congratulated the new chiefs and charged them to use their new status to promote peace and progress in their domains, Ughievwen Kingdom and the society at large.
He admonished the women conferred with chieftaincy titles, to always respect their husbands and not misuse the privilege given to them as chiefs.
The Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, HRM (Dr.) Matthew Ediri Egbi, JP, FoD, AMNSE, RDN, Owahwa II, equally urged the male chiefs not to engage in any act capable of bringing disrepute to the kingdom noting that anyone that indulge in such act will be striped of his or her titles.
He urged the old chiefs to carry the new ones along in the scheme of things and advised the new ones to respect the old chiefs.
The Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, HRM (Dr.) Matthew Ediri Egbi, JP, FoD, AMNSE, RDN, Owahwa II, thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his developmental stride across the state especially those in Ughievwen Kingdom noting that his leadership has not only brought peace to Delta State but to the Ughievwen people.
The revered monarch who is also a clergyman called on Deltans to maintain peace and decorum during this electioneering period.
The Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, HRM (Dr.) Matthew Ediri Egbi, JP, FoD, AMNSE, RDN, Owahwa II, noted that Ughievwen kingdom is known for peaceful and harmonious relationship among themselves and with other kingdoms in the state and called on investors to take advantage of the peaceful nature of the kingdom to invest in it.
The new chiefs, Chief Onaefe Ede-Keghe, Chief Edeghogho Ede-Keghe, Chief David Okoro, and Chief Roseline Okoro thanked God and the Okobaro for the honour and promised to continue to contribute their quota to the peace and development of the kingdom.
