INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE:

PHEW FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL AND KINGS FOUNDATION CELEBRATE THE DAY WITH STUDENTS OF OPETE SECONDARY SCHOOL ENERHEN

As parts of activities to mark this year's international peace day, two Delta based Non Governmental Organizations PHEW FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL and KINGS FOUNDATION on wednesday took the message of peace to students and staff of Opete secondary school in Enerhen Community.


The Director General of PHEW FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL Engineer Queen Chigbo while addressing the students, implored them to always learn to understand each other differences and live peacefully with one another.

Engineer Queen Chigbo also charged the students who are future leaders to be crusader of peace in wherever they go to.


The PHEW FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL DG noted that the importance of peace in the society cannot be overemphasized and as such urged the students to always adopt peaceful mean in resolving dispute among themselves rather than using violence.


" Choose peace over violence, peace is very important for economic growth and rapid societal development" she added.



Engineer Queen Chigbo thereafter called on the students to always shun violence, desist from social vices, refrain from cultism , drug abuse, so as not to jeopardize their bright and promising futures.


Speaking in a similar vein, the President of KINGS FOUNDATION Engineer Kingsley Okaba in his encouraged the students to be more passionate about their education rather than indulging in unprofitable ventures.


Engineer Kingsley Okaba emphasized that with quality education one can achieve whatever height they desire in life.

" I was once a student of this great citadel of learning, with nobody to sponsor me, I was able to succeed doing menial jobs to see, but today am a graduate, to give back to my School" he said.


 Miss Jennifer Orugbo also encouraged the Students to Key fully into education, adding that violence, cultism, drug abuse will not take them to places in life but education.



At the end of the Program, 55 students were given brand new school uniform, 30 for girls and 25 for boys. 


The Principal of Opete secondary school Mr.  Eveierhurhoma Atuyota who was very happy, decided to support the gesture by giving each of the beneficiaries the school barge free to add to the uniform. 


Mr Atuyota further appreciated the team of Kings Foundation and PHEW Foundation for impacting the students with the benefits of peace.
