ALADJA OGBE-IJOH CRISIS: HON MOSES OGUGU CALLS ON PEACEFUL RESOLUTION TO THE COMMUNAL DISPUTE BETWEEN THE TWO COMMUNITIES

The Special Assistant SA to the Delta State Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on Youth Development Hon Moses Ogugu has expressed great concern over the renew communal dispute between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities in Udu and Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.


Hon Ogugu in a press briefing in Warri said that the crisis between the two communities is of no benefit to the people.


Hon Ogugu who is also a peace advocate added that the importance of peace to any society cannot be overemphasized.


He implored leaders from Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities to take a determine steps in working with the Delta State Government amiably led by H.E Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and all relevant authorities in putting an end to the long old dispute.


Hon Ogugu who is a Prince of the Ancient Isaba Kingdom noted that as someone who is also related to Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities he is much concerned on seeing an end to the prolonged communal Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh crisis.


He however appealed to Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities to respect the peace accord that was signed on the 17th of this month by the both communities for the interest of growth and development of the two communities.


Hon Ogugu further stressed that meaningful growth and development cannot take place in a rancorous society and therefore lauded the leaders of the two communities for first agreeing to signed the peace accord on September 17 this month.


He pointed out that the peaceful relationship between Isaba and Ogbe-Ijoh have been cordial and also anticipate for same harmonious relationship between Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja.


The SA on Youth Development however called on youths from the two communities not to allow themselves to be used as agent of destruction and taking lives but rather see themselves as change agent in the process of restoring sustainable peace to the area for good.
