COM FRED OBI SAYS HE REMAINS DELTA CHAIRMAN OF ACCORD PARTY, NO CRISIS IN THE PARTY -

Delta State Chairman of Accord Party, Comrade Fred Obi says the party has been rebuilt, rebranded and repositioned to wrestle power with other parties in the State in the 2023 general elections.

Comrade Obi who made this known at a Press Conference at Asaba on the state of affairs of the party, said there is no crisis in the Party in Delta State  and that he remains the State Chairman of the party.

Addressing members of the press, Delta State Chairman of Accord Party, Comrade Fred Obi flanked by members of the party's State Executive Committee and State Working Committee, said on assumption of office on 16th of June 2021, he and his executive swung into action to rebuild, rebrand and reposition the party which was hitherto in comatose.

He noted that their efforts paid off, as Delta State Accord Party is no longer an appendage of other Political Parties.

Comrade Obi noted that within four months in office, they ensured the party fielded a candidate for the September 2021 bye election for Isoko South State Constituency.

He noted that,  the party could not achieve much from the bye election as they were relatively new and was still battling to set up the party's structure  across the 25 LGAs of the State.

Delta State Chairman of Accord Party disclosed that, the progress of the party was slowed down, when a group who claimed to be the original owner of the party took them to Court and all efforts to resolve the issue amicably, failed.

He explained that at the end of the Court process, which lasted for nine months, Justice Abang Okon of the Federal High Court Warri ruled in their favour and ordered that a Fine of Two Hundred be paid to them.

Comrade Obi stated that, with the Judgement, he remains the Chairman of Accord Party Delta State and with the case over, there is no crisis in the party in the state, stressing that, the party can now settle down to Campaign for it's candidates in the general elections.

He thanked  the National Chairman and members of the National Working committee of Accord Party for their support and encouragement while the Court case lasted.

Comrade Obi said, despite the challenges, the leadership of the party in the state were not deterred as they kept on the fight to remove the Party permanently from the hands of Political Jobbers, which according to him has paid off.

He noted that the party in the state is fielding four good Candidates that are truly out to win the Election, Sir Kenny Okolugbo for Ndokwa/Ukwani Federal Constituency, Hon Rasaq Amaturu for Burutu State Constituency 2, Engr Fidel Onwordi for Aniocha State Constituency and Reverend David Udumebreye for Ughelli South State Constituency.

Delta State Accord Party Chairman, said the four candidates are men that have shown capacity to truly hang the Flag of the Party both at the State and at the National Assembly come 2023.

He urged party faithful from the Ward to State levels to go all out and deliver these candidates noting that a strong mechanism will be put in place to check the activities of members especially as it relates to anti Party activities.

Comrade Obi urged eligible voters in the state to vote for all the candidates of Accord Party for effective and result oriented representation at the State and National Assembly levels.
