UPU AMERICA CALLS FOR PEACEFUL GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION IN DELTA





Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, America, the umbrella body of all Urhobo Organizations and people resident in North America (United States and Canada) has called for a peaceful and credible gubernatorial election in Delta State.


A statement signed by the President of UPU America, Olorogun Prince(Dr)  Abel Dafiaghor and Director of Publicity, Olorogun Rume Oputu said as a non-profit and non partisan organization.we urge all major players to promote peace with their supporter's.


It urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Security Agents and Political Parties to be alive to their responsibilities, noting that, there cannot be a credible election without peace.


The group advice candidates of the various political parties vying for the Governorship seat of the state to go about the exercise peacefully adding that politics is not a do or die affair.


UPU America advised whoever emerges Governor to strive to create a better Delta State in line with dreams and aspirations of the people.


It stated the Urhobos should be proud that, all the major contenders for Governorship position are illustrious sons of Urhoboland.


It expressed confidence that whoever emerges among them will build the Delta State of our dreams that will be the envy of all noting that the last time an Urhobo son occupied the position, he  took the state to greater height and his unprecedented achievements spread across the state, are there for all to see.


 UPU America urged  eligible voters to come out enmasse to exercise their franchise on Saturday 18th March 2023.
