AUIU CONGRATULATES GOVERNOR ELECT, RIGHT HON OBOREVWORI ON ELECTORAL VICTORY
The Executive of Agbarho Urhobo Improvement Union, AUIU, have congratulated Delta Governor Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori on his victory in last Saturday's gubernatorial election.
A statement signed by the President General of AUIU, Chief Kevwe Edoja and National Publicity Secretary Chief Felix Ofurhie says the victory of Right Hon Oborevwori was well deserved as he campaigned extensively round the nooks and crannies of the State coupled with his feat as the longest serving Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly.
It noted that, the emergence of Right Hon Sheriff Oborevwori as Governor Elect was a difficult journey as many forces stood against him
as a candidate and eventual election but God in His infinite grace decided to choose him
It added that, Deltans and non Deltans rose up and affirmed that he is the right person for the job noting that his track record as a two-term Speaker of the State House of Assem
bly speak volumes of his leadership qualities and resilience.
AUIU also congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the victory noting that the victory is a testimonial of the excellent performance of the Okowa administration in the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people.
It explained that, Deltans are obviously impressed with the performance of the PDP Administration hence they decided to vote for Right Hon Oborevwori for continuity.
AUIU urged Right Hon Oborevwori to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and take the state to an enviable height through his MORE Agenda.
It urges Hon Oborevwori to take advantage of the peaceful nature of Agbarho Kingdom and give priority to it in terms of development and appointments.
AUIU urged other Governorship Candidates to accept defeat by congratulating Right Hon Oborevwori and join force with him in moving the state forward.
It also urged Right Hon Oborevwori to be magnanimous in victory by carrying everyone along in the scheme of things noting that it is time to build bridges of reconciliation of all aggrieved members and contestants in the State.
The leadership of AUIU called on all Deltans, to rally round the Governor-elect and his Deputy with lofty ideas that would add value to governance and make the state a preferred destination.
It prayed God to grant the Governor-elect wisdom and grace to succeed and called on aggrieved members of the party to bury the hatchet and join hands with the incoming administration to move the state forward.
