*African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Okpe LGA Endorses Chief James Augoye as Best House of Assembly Candidate for Okpe Constituency*

The Okpe LGA chapter of African Democratic Congress (ADC) has endorsed Okakuro James Augoye of the PDP as its preferred candidate to represent Okpe Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly in 2023.

The ADC's South South cum Delta Central Coordinator, Comrade Bright Jakpor Honda, and ADC's Okpe LGA Coordinator, Comrade Akpobome Felix, announced Augoye's endorsement on Thursday 9th March, 2023 at Orerokpe, headquarters of Okpe LGA of Delta State.

They said the INEC did not publish the name of ADC's candidate for the 2023 House of Assembly election for Okpe constituency, hence its decision to endorse Chief James Augoye as preferred candidate for the race. They said Augoye who started his political career as a councilor, has been tested and proven many times in his official capacities, especially as the State Commissioner for Works.

According to the ADC executives, "Augoye is the most qualified; he has capacity; he is committed; he is a man of impeccable character, and very resourceful, and we believe that he can change the legislative narrative of Delta State." They said they also decided to give Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori the same support in his bid to be the next governor of Delta State, adding that they would deploy all ADC's foot soldiers towards achieving the desired victory.

"All we want for Delta State and Okpe LGA is purposeful/credible representation, and Chief James Augoye is a perfect march because his track record speaks for him," they asserted.

They urged him to visit the communities in Okpe LGA for more sensitization before the election, adding that the ADC has collapsed its structure into that of Augoye to enable him come out victorious.

ADC youths from wards one to ten in Okpe LGA who were also present at the event, noted that the track records of Chief James Augoye and his humanitarian deeds when he was the Delta State Works Commissioner, would make him win at the polls. They said they carried out a thorough investigation before his endorsement.

Responding, Okakuro James Augoye thanked the Okpe ADC for finding him worthy of the party's endorsement as the sole candidate for the House of Assembly polls. "Today, I am highly delighted and grateful to God for my endorsement by the ADC. Today marks the beginning of another political marriage and it will be sustained with a synergy of efforts. There will be constant dialogue and relationships between the PDP and the ADC, going forward," Chief Augoye emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Okpe chapter of the Union of Tippers and Quary Employers of Nigeria, led by its Delta State Secretary, Comrade John Okiemute, also endorsed Okakuro Augoye at the same venue same day. The union described him as the PDP candidate best suited for the House of Assembly seat for Okpe Constituency, hence his endorsement.

Reacting to Ojakuro Augoye's endorsement by the ADC and the Tippers and Quary Employers Union, the Duke of Orerokpe District, Prince Okakuro Godwin Ejinyere said the occasion was one of two good hearts beating as one. While appreciating ADC for the unconditional endorsement of Chief Augoye, Prince Ejinyere urged them to convert the endorsement into votes at the polls on the 18th of March, 2023. He charged them to shun violence as the PDP in Okpe does not believe in politics of violence.

Hon. Ejinyere, former Chairman of Okpe Local Govt, urged them to talk to others towards achieving success through hard work. He said it was a blessing in disguise that INEC postponed the State elections, as God's design to pave the way for more and greater consultations.

Prayers of victory were offered for Chief James Augoye in the forthcoming House of Assembly elections, followed by a group photograph with him.
