DELTA ACCORD PARTY HOLDS SUCCESSFUL CONGRESS, FRED OBI EMERGES CHAIRMAN


Delta State Chapter of Accord Party has held a successful State Congress where officers were elected to steer the affairs of the party in the state.


Seventy-two delegates across the 25 LGAs attended the Congress and three delegates each represented their LGA.


A member of the National Working Committee of Accord Party and Retuning Officer, Mr Fred Akugbe presided over the peaceful election under the watchful eyes of party leaders and members as well as officials of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.



At the end of the exercise, Mr Akugbe commended members of the party in the state for their peaceful conduct and orderliness which has made his job easy.

 

He urged members of the Party to Accord the New Members of the State Working Committee the needed support to enable them succeed.


Mr Akugbe announced that, Mr Fred Obi who was the Acting Chairman of the Delta Accord Party, was elected as the substantive State Chairman to lead the eleven member State Working Committee, while  Comrade P. Agbigbe and Rev D. Udumebraye were elected as  Vice Chairman and Secretary respectively.


Responding on behalf of the New Members of the State Working Committee,  Mr Fred Obi thanked all members for their support and their faith in him to continue as the State Chairman.


He promised to work with other members of the State Working Committee to properly position the Party in Delta State for greater results.


Mr Obi called on all members of the party to give him the needed support to enable him build a formidable Party that will be the envy of all in the state.


The Highpoint of the Congress was the official handover of the result sheet to officials of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, present.
