Comrade Onaodowan Led Ekpan Development Committee Accuses Uvwie Council Chairman Ramson Onoyake of inaugurating an Illegal Committee in Uvwie



Chairman of Ekpan Development Committee EDC Comrade Newton Onaodowan has called on Delta State Governor Rt, Honorable Sheriff Oborevwori to wade into the illegality perpetrated by the Uvwie Local Government Chairman Hon. Ramsey Onoyake where the Uvwie Council Chairman inaugurated a new Ekpan Development Committee without the expiration of tenure of the current administration.


Comrade Onaodowan who said the ten man Ekpan Development Committee headed by him came into existence through legitimate means after they were sworn-in by the Uvwie Local Government Chairman Hon Ramson Onoyake revealed that the documents which empowers them to operate was still with them and has not been withdrawn.


Comrade Onaodowan stated that they are not begging to remain in office but wants the right process and precedures to be followed while electing representatives stressing that Victory Nanakpero who was inaugurated by the Uvwie Local Government Chairman did not meet certain requirements as stipulated by the constitution of Ekpan Development Committee.


Secretary of Ekpan Development Committee Comrade Matthew Emewakeme disclosed that their administration was given the mandate to maintain peace and harmony in Ekpan and advised the Uvwie Council Chairman to reconsider its decision by ensuring the right processes are adopted  to sustain lasting peace in Ekpan.


They revealed that as peace loving people they have reported the situation to the Delta State Governor Rt, Honorable Sheriff Oborevwori, the Secretary to the State Government SSG Kingsley Emu and the Delta State Commissioner of Police with the view of settling the issue amicably.
