ETHIOPE CHAMBERS URGES FG TO URGENTLY REPAIR WARRI-BENIN EXPRESSWAY

The Ethiope Chambers of Commerce has called on the Federal Government to urgently come to the road of Businesses and travelers using the Warri - Benin Expressway, by deploying emergency repair teams to the dilapidated highway.

In a press release signed by the President of the Chamber, Chief Emma. Avworo, The President noted that over the past few months the one hour journey from Warri now takes upmost of eight hours, with lorries and trucks spending days at the worst sections of Ologbo. He noted that not only is this affecting passengers but also the businesses in the area, as cost of transportation not only tripled, but goods and vehicles are damaged.

He further noted that the situation will discourage investors, as lack of adequate road network will not encourage potential investors, who cannot find outlet for finished products nor roads through which to transport raw materials.

Chief Avworo pleaded with the Federal Ministry of Works to urgently heed this appeal as the road is now totally cut off, while the alternate Sapele Agbor Road is also in a sorry state between Eku and Agbor.
