OTOTA OF UHURIE SUB CLAN URGES RESIDENTS TO DISREGARD CLOSURE OF SHOPS, BUSINESSES ON 9TH SEPT FOR BURIAL OF PURPORTED OVIE OR OSUVIE OF UHURIE KINDRED, AFFIRMS KINGSHIP OF OKOBARO OWAHWA 11 OVER UHURIE SUB-CLAN





The Otota and Otota in Council of the Uhurie Ruling Kindred/ Subclan, Ughievwen Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, Olorogun Christopher Otobrise has urged residents of Uhurie Sub-clan to disregard any announcement by mischief makers that shops and businesses should be closed on Saturday 9th September, 2023 for the burial of one Mr Reuben Ogode purportedly refered to as Ovie or Osuvie of Uhurie Kindred.


A statement signed by the Otota of Uhurie Kindred and sub clan, Olorogun Christopher Otobrise, President, Uhurie Descendants Union, Olorogun John Ugberioba, Secretary, Uhurie Descendants Union, Olorogun Anthony Ukoko and it's Public Relations Officer, Olorogun T.E.D Mukoro says there is no such title as “Orosuen” or “Ovie of Uhurie” Kindred or Subclan in Ughievwen Kingdom of Ughelli South Local Government Area, as a result any announcement or publication in that regard should be disregarded.


It urged shop and business owners in Uhurie Sub-clan  to go about their lawful businesses without fear or harrasment as Delta State government and security agencies have be alerted on the issue.


It advised the authors of the purported publication to desist from any plan capable of disrupting the peace of the Sub-clan and further impoverish the struggling residents by disrupting their means of livelihood.


It affirmed that HRM Dr. Matthew Ediri Egbi JP. Owahwa II, Okobaro of Jeremi (Ughievwen) Kingdom is the only recognized Traditional Ruler and prescribed authority in Uhurie kindred/Subclan and Ughievwen clan/kingdom in Ughelli South Local government Area by the Delta State Government.


It added that the highest Traditional position in Uhurie Kindred/Sub-Clan is the OTOTA OF UHURIE SUB-CLAN, who administers the Subclan on behalf of the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom and is a member of the Okobaro in Council of Ughievwen Kingdom.
