In the wake of justice system and arbitrations, prosecution of individuals who are condemned and reprimanded in prisons for too long, a time has continued to whip series of concerns and appeal for clemency.
Against this backdrop, some concerned Women and Girls recently took to the Effurun roundabout to appeal to the Delta state Governor, Right Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori through the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to give pardon to those reprimanded in various prisons for a long period of time.
They added that they voted for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and also stood by him in prayers during his court case because they were certain that he will be instrumental to their plea.
The women also added that clemency should also be given to their family members who have been condemned.
The demonstrators hinted that they have spent money on lawyers and security agents who have promised to assist them but has yielded no results hence they decided to call on the Delta State Governor and State Attorney General to come to their aid.
They noted that their family members who are being reprimanded in various prisons across the state are bread winners and life has been tough for without them.
The demonstrators appealed to well meaning individuals, civil society organizations as well as human right activists to come to their aid.
