DELTA ACCORD PARTY FELICITATES GOV OBOREVWORI ON HIS ONE YEAR IM OFFICE, SUES FOR SUSTAINED SUPPORT 


Delta State chapter of Accord Party,  has  felicitates with Rt. Hon.  Sheriff Oborevwori, Executive Governor of Delta State, on his one year in office as the Executive Governor of Delta State. 


A Congratulatory Message Signed by Delta State Chairman of Accord Party, Comrade Fred Obi, says the party commend the governor and his team on his remarkable developmental strides within his one year in office.


It noted that, Governor Oborevwori has carried out several laudable infrastructural projects like the commencement of the construction of three fly-overs, cloverleaf and pedestrian bridges  in Warri and Effurun by Julius Berger.


It added that, the project when completed will improve the aesthetics of the city as well as reduce traffic congestion, which will significantly ease vehicular movements in the twin cities of Effurun / Warri.


Worthy of note is also the various road networks being constructed and others being rehabilitated both in the cities and rural areas. 


Additionally, the disbursement of 500 million naira grant to 5,000 Delta traders and artisans to support their businesses and sustain their livelihoods is a laudable feat by your administration.


Accord Party encourages the Governor and his team to continue on its efforts towards advancing the state, increase wealth, and ensuring long-lasting fulfillment of his promises to all Deltans.


As a political party, we will want to see the Governor and his team  focus more on agricultural initiatives towards ensuring food sufficiency in the state, look into the security challenges posed by Fulani herdsmen especially in the Ika areas where farmers are finding it extremely difficult to access their Farms to cultivate crops for food  production in the state. 


Your excellency, as you very well know, Ika areas through their Agricultural activities, contribute significantly to the food supply of the state and the danger posed by the herdsmen as their farmlands are being destroyed as the kidnapping and maiming of people especially the Farmers is already affecting the cost of food and it’s availability in the state.


There is also need to as a matter of urgency look into the stretch of federal road from Agbor through Obiaruku, Abraka down to Eku and see how you can bring to the table all the stakeholders involved to see that the road is permanently fixed for the good of Deltans as the importance of the road can not be over emphasized.


Lastly on this note, we urge the governor to improve the workers welfare amidst the harsh economic conditions and also speedily pay retirees their pensions and gratuities because it does not make sense for senior citizens of the state to wait for so long to receive their entitlements while others die without being paid.


Accord as a Political Party commends the Governor for partnering with opposition political parties in the state for this past one year and will be much more ready to partner with your administration in various areas especially to enhance the socio-economic development of Delta State.


It Congratulated His Excellency, the executive Governor of Delta State and wished him more grace and wisdom to lead the state and successful implementation of his MORE Agenda.
