Isoko-

As part of the events commemorating the life and times of the late Professor Alexander Omu, a large-scale free medical outreach was organized by his widow, Dr. Florence Omu, in collaboration with Global Medical Missions.

The outreach took place at Saint Philips Church in Igbide, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State.

The saint Philips church premises came alive with activity as hundreds of residents including children, young adults, and senior citizens all gathered with hopes of benefiting from the free medical outreach program organised by the family of late Professor Alexander Omu and Global Medical Missions.

The outreach offered a wide range of medical services including dental and eye care, deworming treatments for children, health education sessions, and free medical consultations — all aimed at restoring health and hope.

A team of dedicated doctors and nurses, led by Dr. Emmanuel Akpo and his wife Morenike, worked tirelessly to attend to patients.

They also provided vital health education on cervical cancer prevention and the dangers of drug abuse as women received free breast examinations, while men were offered free prostate cancer screening all in a bid to encourage early detection and healthier lifestyles.

Dr. Florence Omu expressed deep satisfaction with the remarkable turnout and successful execution of the event.

She emphasized that continuing her late husband’s vision of providing free medical care to their people was one of the most meaningful ways to honor his memory a vision she intends to uphold with biannual outreach programs.

Dr. Emmanuel Akpo also commended the Igbide community for their cooperation, which he said greatly contributed to the success of the outreach.

Beneficiaries of the program expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for bringing much-needed relief and renewed hope to the community.

In partnership with Global Medical Missions, Dr. Florence Omu helped provide free medical services to over 700 patients in the Igbide community, continuing a legacy of compassion and community care.
