*HOSTCOM DELTA REOPENS RENOVATED SECRETARIAT, PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON OBOREVWORI, OKOWA, DESOPADEC*
The Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), Delta State Chapter, has reopened its renovated State Secretariat in Uvwie Local Government Area and held an executive meeting which climaxed with a vote of confidence on key state leaders.
At the meeting on Tuesday, members of the association passed a vote of confidence on Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and the Management of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), citing their unwavering support for host communities.
Welcoming members back to the Secretariat, the State Chairman, Comrade Sunny Enujeke, said the extensive remodelling was designed to optimise the working environment and meet the rising demands of oil-bearing communities in the state.
He attributed the renovation and other initiatives of his administration to the partnership and support of the state government and DESOPADEC, stressing that the gesture had silenced propaganda from non-state actors.
Comrade Enujeke further urged executive members and ethnic nationality chairmen to remain united as the leadership was committed to programmes that would improve the welfare of all host communities.
HOSTCOM Secretary, Comrade Joseph Lamienghan, and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Perere Pemu Arayi, expressed optimism that the modernised Secretariat would open fresh opportunities to serve oil-bearing nationalities better.
Other executive members and ethnic chairmen present commended Governor Oborevwori, Senator Okowa, and DESOPADEC for their consistent support, pledging their loyalty to Comrade Enujeke’s leadership.
It will be recalled that earlier this year, the State Chairman donated Sienna buses to ethnic nationality chairmen in HOSTCOM, a gesture made possible with the support of the Delta State Government and DESOPADEC.
