COMRADE KESSIENA EGAJIVWIE, COMRADE DAVIS OBOJOBO EMERGE CHAIRMAN AND SECRETARY OF FIELD INFORMATION CHAPEL.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Field Information Chapel now has a new leadership led by Comrade Kessiena Egajivwie, saddled to pilot the helm of affairs for the next three years.


Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, who led members of the state leadership to monitor the election at the Warri South Council Secretariat, charged the newly elected officers to uphold professionalism and strict ethical standards to strengthen the respect and credibility of the chapel.


The election of Comrade Kessiena Egagivwie as Chairperson of the NUJ Field Information Chapel has set a historic record, as she becomes the first female to lead the chapel. 


The seven-member executive committee was elected unopposed.


The chairman, Delta State Council of the NUJ, Comrade Churchill Oyowe flanked by the Vice Chairman, Comrade Felix Ekwu and the Acting State Secretary, who were on ground to monitor the election commended the electoral committee led by Comrade Joseph Duomu for conducting a fair screening process adding that judging from the credentials of the executive members, the future of the chapel is in safe hands.


Comrade Oyowe urged the newly elected executive members to be committed to the ideals of the pen profession, as their conduct would attract the beauty and respect of the profession to them.


Comrade Oyowe urged the executive to be united, work with one voice, even as he promised to give the chapel due support in order for them to meet the chapel's goals and objectives.


Earlier, the outgoing chairman of the chapel, Comrade Charles Ojefia, in his valedictory speech, thanked members for their support during his time, noting that his tenure experienced peace and remarkable achievements,. 


He urged members to cooperate with the new leadership to take the chapel to the next level.


The newly elected chairman of the chapel, Comrade Kessiena Egagivwie on behalf of members of the Executive including, the vice chairman Samson Ogonewo, the secretary, Comrade Davis Obojobo financial secretary, Ogaga Rachel, the Treasurer, Okorigwe Stella and the auditor, Aforhon Tobore Paulet, appreciated the state Council Chairman of the NUJ and members for the confidence reposed in them to move the chapel forward while soliciting for support.


Highpoint was the formal inauguration of the new executive members elected unopposed via a motion moved by Comrade Josephine Egboge and seconded by Comrade Ruth Okuya.
