IJAW LEADER MULADE URGES PRESIDENT TINUBU, GOVERNORS TO PRIORITIZE ACCOUNTABILITY AND ECONOMIC RELIEF IN 2026
Chief Mulade Sheriff, PhD, a prominent Ijaw leader and peace advocate, has called on Nigerian governments to focus on delivering electoral promises and addressing economic hardship in 2026. In his New Year message, Mulade emphasized the need for prudence, accountability, and people-centered governance.
Mulade specifically urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to implement inclusive economic policies that prioritize citizens' welfare, citing severe economic difficulties faced by Nigerians.
He commended Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for infrastructural development but stressed the need to extend benefits to riverine communities, particularly Ijaw and Itsekiri areas, which contribute significantly to the state's economy through oil and gas.
The renowned environmental justice crusader who spoke on Economic Relief, emphasized the need for urgent, people-oriented responses to economic hardship.
Speaking on inclusive development, Comrade Mulade a notable Chief from the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom Warri South West, urged even distribution of development benefits across Delta State, focusing on riverine communities.
