CHIEF DR. PEDRO BEKENAWEI UNVEILS AGENDA FOR EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION AND POSITIVE CHANGE IN WARRI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY
Chief (Dr.) Pedro T. Bekenawei of Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State has declared his commitment to offering effective representation and delivering positive change to the people of Warri Federal Constituency through purposeful leadership, inclusiveness, and people-oriented legislation.
Speaking on the theme, “Effective Representation for Real and Positive Change,” Chief Bekenawei described himself as not just a candidate, but a partner in progress determined to change the narrative of representation from mere promises to visible and impactful action.
According to him, his ambition can only be achieved with the support and cooperation of the good people of Warri Federal Constituency, stressing that as a true democrat and son of the land, he remains committed to advancing development, unity, and the rule of law across the constituency.
Chief Bekenawei noted that a society not governed by law is bound to fail, emphasizing the need to strengthen cohesion among the diverse ethnic nationalities within the constituency in order to mitigate factors capable of causing ethnic tension and division.
He disclosed that his legislative agenda would focus on seven key thematic areas aimed at promoting peace, development, and inclusive growth across Warri Federal Constituency.
The frontline aspirant said he would champion policies and attract federal initiatives that would ensure peace building, respect for ethnic diversity, and equitable development in all communities within the constituency.
On legislative accountability, Chief Bekenawei pledged to sponsor bills that would directly impact the lives of the people while also organizing regular town hall meetings to engage constituents and understand their pressing needs.
He further promised an all-inclusive leadership style with equitable distribution of constituency projects and democratic dividends across both rural and urban communities.
Speaking on healthcare, the Warri South-West born politician said he would advocate for reforms in primary healthcare delivery through mobile clinics and medical support vouchers for elderly citizens.
On economic empowerment and agriculture, he pledged support for small and medium-scale businesses through grants and empowerment programmes, while also providing farmers with modern farming equipment and agricultural inputs.
Chief Bekenawei also highlighted infrastructure and rural development as a major priority, promising to advocate for rehabilitation of roads, rural electrification projects, and improved access to clean water in underserved communities.
In the area of education and youth empowerment, he said attention would be given to renovation of schools, provision of educational materials, and establishment of ICT hubs to equip youths with modern digital skills.
He assured constituents that if elected, he would operate an open-door policy anchored on integrity, compassion, accountability, and accessibility to all segments of the constituency.
