In a bid to promote quality education across Warri Federal Constituency, the House of Representatives candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 General Elections, Dr. Pedro Bekenawei, on Tuesday July 21, 2026 flagged off an educational support programme with the distribution of learning materials to pupils and students in various wards of Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.

DRTV Correspondent reports that the items distributed include exercise books, pens, pencils, mathematical sets, rulers and other essential learning materials.

Speaking during the presentation of the materials at Iwere College, Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area, Dr. Pedro Bekenawei, represented by Hon. Soroaye Dennis, said the initiative was designed to complement government efforts in the education sector, ease the burden on parents, and encourage pupils and students to remain committed to their academic pursuits.

He described education as the foundation of human capital development and a vital tool for sustainable national growth, stressing that investing in the education of young people is an investment in the future of the constituency.

Dr. Bekenawei assured the people that, if elected into the House of Representatives in 2027, he would expand his educational interventions across the entire Warri Federal Constituency through the provision of more learning materials and other programmes aimed at improving access to quality education.

He reaffirmed his commitment to empowering the next generation by creating opportunities that would enable children and young people to realise their full potential through education.

Receiving the educational materials on behalf of beneficiaries, the Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Warri North Local Government Area, Dr. Anthony Clarke, commended Dr. Bekenawei for his commitment to educational development and his passion for improving the future of children in the constituency.

He expressed optimism that the initiative would positively impact learning outcomes and pledged that the materials would be distributed fairly and transparently to deserving pupils and students across the various wards.

Also speaking, the Principal of Iwere College, Mrs. Victoria Udele, alongside some of the beneficiaries, expressed appreciation to Dr. Bekenawei for the timely intervention, describing the donation as a significant boost to teaching and learning.

They noted that the gesture would motivate students to remain focused on their education while calling on other public-spirited individuals to emulate the initiative.

The educational outreach, spearheaded by Dr. Pedro Bekenawei, a prominent Chief of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area, is expected to continue in other communities across Warri Federal Constituency.
