2027: NDP WARRI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY CANDIDATE, MULADE SHERIFF, PLEDGES PEACE, UNITY, DEVELOPMENT

WARRI:

The National Democratic Party, NDP, candidate for Warri Federal Constituency in the 2027 General Elections, Comrade Mulade B Sheriff, PhD, has pledged to promote peace, unity and inclusive development among the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo ethnic groups in the constituency if elected into the House of Representatives.

Comrade Mulade, a renowned United Nations Peace Ambassador and environmental rights activist, made the commitment during the official flag-off of his campaign and consultation meeting with citizens, supporters and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.

The NDP candidate said his ambition was driven by the desire to provide quality and effective representation for the people of Warri Federal Constituency and attract greater federal attention to the area.

According to him, his representation would focus on constructive advocacy and engagement with relevant stakeholders to address the developmental challenges confronting the constituency, particularly in the areas of employment, infrastructure and youth empowerment.

He expressed concern that despite the enormous economic contribution of Warri Federal Constituency to Nigeria's economy, the area had not received commensurate federal attention and development.

“If elected in 2027 into the House of Representatives, Warri City and its environs would be given the deserved special attention through constructive advocacy and engagement with all relevant stakeholders. As the voice for the voiceless, I assure you that the voice of Warri people will be heard constructively,” he said.

Comrade Mulade, a notable traditional title holder from the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom also pledged to work with the local, state and federal governments, as well as other critical stakeholders, to pursue the resuscitation of the Warri and Koko seaports and the development of the Warri Industrial Park.

He said his representation would also promote employment and empowerment opportunities for youths and women through agriculture, fisheries and skills-acquisition programmes, stressing that economic empowerment remained critical to sustainable development in the constituency.

The Ibe-Sorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom maintained that his aspiration was not about political fanfare, but about providing purposeful representation through what he described as constructive advocacy, stakeholder engagement and an inclusive approach.

Comrade Mulade who is also the Treasure of the Ijaw Apex Socio Cultural body known as the Ijaw National Congress INC, equally urged the people of Warri Federal Constituency to rise above ethnic and individual considerations, saying sustained development could only be achieved through trust, peace, unity and collaboration among the various ethnic groups.

“We cannot continue to fight ourselves, deprive ourselves or destroy ourselves.

Now is the time for us to rise above the confines of our individualistic and ethnic considerations to a broader-based relationship built on trust, peace and unity across Warri Federal Constituency for development,” he said.

Presenting himself as the NDP candidate, Comrade Mulade Sheriff said he was committed to providing people-oriented and inclusive representation that would deepen peace, progress and development in Warri Federal Constituency and Delta State at large.
