NDP WARRI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY CANDIDATE VISITS OLU OF WARRI, SEEKS ROYAL BLESSING



The National Democratic Party, NDP, candidate for Warri Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Chief Comrade Mulade Blessing Sheriff, PhD, has paid a courtesy visit to the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, as part of ongoing consultations ahead of the polls.

Mulade, the Ibe-Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom and a renowned peace advocate, used the visit to formally present his political aspiration to the revered monarch and seek royal blessings for his bid to represent Warri South, Warri North and Warri South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Speaking during the visit, the NDP candidate said his aspiration was driven by the desire to provide effective, inclusive and people-oriented representation that would promote peace, unity and sustainable development across the constituency.

He explained that his “Mandate to Serve 2027 – The Light of Hope” agenda would prioritise economic empowerment, job creation, youth and women development, skills acquisition and improved representation for the people of Warri Federal Constituency.

Mulade stressed that the constituency belongs to all its constituent ethnic nationalities, noting that his aspiration transcends ethnic considerations and is focused on advancing the collective interests of the people.

According to him, lasting development can only be achieved through peaceful coexistence, mutual trust and cooperation among the Itsekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo ethnic groups.

Responding, the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, commended Mulade for his contributions to peacebuilding, environmental advocacy and community development over the years.

The monarch urged him to conduct his campaign peacefully and remain focused on issues that directly impact the lives of the people, especially youths, women and the elderly.

Ogiame Atuwatse III also emphasised the need for unity among the various ethnic groups in Warri Federal Constituency, stressing that meaningful development can only be achieved through collective effort, mutual respect and purposeful leadership.

The revered monarch subsequently offered prayers and royal blessings for Mulade’s political journey and aspirations.

Speaking after the audience with the Olu, Mulade described the visit as significant, noting that the royal blessings had further strengthened his commitment to pursuing an issue-based campaign centred on peace, development and inclusive representation.

He said seeking the blessings and counsel of the Olu of Warri was important to him as a son of the Warri area, adding that the monarch’s advice would continue to guide his approach to leadership and public service.

Mulade, who is also a United Nations Peace Ambassador and development advocate, reaffirmed his commitment to promoting dialogue, understanding and cooperation among the three major ethnic nationalities in the constituency.

The visit comes as political consultations intensify across Warri Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections, with aspirants engaging traditional institutions, community leaders and other stakeholders in the build-up to the polls.
