Activities marking the burial ceremony of former Regent of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom  and religious Minister, Dr. Samson Youkore Mamamu will commenced on Monday 29th Nov. to Sunday 5th Dec. 2021.

A statement signed by Chief William Mamamu on behalf of the family, Hon. Faith Mamamu for the children and Chief Favour Izoukumor for the Ogbe-ijoh traditional council says activities marking the burial ceremony of the elder statesman will commence on Monday, 29th November 2021 with a symposium and tribute at Warri club, by Navy Base  Warri by 10am.

It explains that the President of Ijaw National Congress, INC,  Professor Benjamin Ogele Okaba  and the Dean of School of Postgraduate Studies, Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State., Professor Ibaba Samuel Ibaba, will deliver lectures on the topics "A Reflection on the Niger Delta Struggle and Host Communities Development " and  "Ijaw Nation and the Politics of Nigeria" while Professor Ambily Etekpe will lead special tributes on that day.

It adds that, on Tuesday, 30th November, 2021 by 10 a.m, there will be Social wake-keep at Chief Tunde Smooth playground, NPA, Warri where renowned Ijaw musicians Chief Barrister Smooth, Chief Tini-owei dance troop of Isaba and Wabu ladies of Ogbe-Ijoh will entertain guests.

It adds that, on Wednesday, 1st December l, at 3pm, there will be a Service of song at his Warri residence, Number three Osititi Street, off Edjemudaro Road, by Cinema site, Okumagba layout, Warri.

The statement also said on Friday 3rd December, 8am, the remains of Dr Samson Mamamu will be conveyed from Vennel Hospital Mortuary Warri to his Warri residence, No 3 Osititi street, off Edjemudaro road by Cinema site, Okumagba layout, Warri before heading to God's Ministry International Church, Salvation City, Idou-Tamara-ama, New Ogbe-Ijoh, via, Miller Waterside, NPA, Warri for lying in state.


It adds that the funeral ceremony of Dr Samson Mamamu will be rounded off on Sunday, 5th December, with a Thanksgiving service at God’s Ministry International Church, Salvation City, Idou-Tamara-ama, New Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri South-West L.G.A Delta State.

Late Dr. Samson Youkore Mamamu The Izon Torou-Ebediwei of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom passed on at the age of ninety-one and was survived by fifteen children, thirty one grand children, two great grandchildren and many relatives.
