OLOROGUN A.P. WHELEKE EMERGES PRESIDENT GENERAL UGHIEVWEN UNION

Olorogun  Patrick Wheleke has emerged President General Of Ughievwen Union, Ughelli South Local Government Area.

Olorogun  Patrick Wheleke emerged in a keenly contested election between him Olorogun Morrison Ideh.

At the end of the election, Olorogun  Patrick Wheleke scored fifteen votes out of the twenty-three accredited delegates while Olorogun Ideh got eight votes.

Olorogun Wheleke emerged through a selection process presided over by Ukpedi Union's executives led by its chairman, Olorogun Chris Ekpen in collaboration with the Otota of Ukpedi, Olorogun E K Sajini, Otota of Ughievwen Kingdom, Olorogun M. A. Shaire and Acting President of Ughievwen Union, Olorogun I O Kekeje and Prof SO Onakovwen who  was the spiritual father of day. 

Olorogun Whekeke dedicated his victory to God and promised to carry all along.

It would be recalled that the outgoing Union Executive Committee had held an executive meeting where it was resolved that due to the prevailing economic hardship in the country, a huge congress would not be held to effect transition into  the Ughievwen Union. 

In further resolutions, it was agreed that the four Sub Clans of Ughievwen Kingdom should conduct transparent elections in their respective Sub Clan Headquarters to select successful Representatives to lead the Clan Executive in line with stipulated leadership positions sharing.

In that order, by the mandates given to each sub-clans, it is the turn of Orhowhe sub-clan to produce the next Vice President, Owahwa (Treasurer), Ukpedi (President General) and Uhurie, Secretary General.
