OWAHWA SUB CLAN APPEALS FOR DEVT. PROJECTS, APPOINTMENTS, PELDGES SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI
Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, Owahwa the second has urged sons and daughters of Owahwa sub clan to maintain the age long unity and peace in the Sub-clan and work towards attracting development to the area.
The Okobaro said this at a meeting of Owahwa Kindreds/ sub-clan held at the Okobaro Royal Palace, Otu-Jeremi, Ughelli South Local Government Area.
A statement issued at the end of the meeting signed by Chairman of the Meeting and Alternate Chairman, Elders' Council of Owahwa Kindred/ Sub-clan, Bishop Edirhin Eta, Olorogun David Uhawha (Otota of Owahwa Sub-clan) and five others commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for hitting the ground running and for his successful hundred days in office.
It appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to give urgent attention and approval for the construction and completion of the Okwagbe – Otutuama – Esaba – Ophorigbala – Iwhreogun – Otitiri Road, Okwagbe – okwemor – Otegbo – Egbo–Ideh Road.
It added that the governor should assist in taring Otor–Owahwa through the old Town Hall to the Secondary School Road, Otor–Owahwa - Otutuama Road, Arhagba -- Orhuwhorun -- Okpaka Road with a loop to Egbo-Uhurie, Arhagba -- Egbo-Uhurie -- Uvwiamuge Road, Arhagba -- Usiefrun Road.
It also appealed that, Governor Oborevwori should approve the construction of Primary and Secondary Schools Buildings, Health Care Facilities, light amongst as well as give appointments to Indigenes of the sub clan.

It also says two Special Committes, the
Elders' Council of Owahwa Kindred/Sub-clan and Strategy Committee of Owahwa Sub-clan were constituted at the meeting.
It explained that, the Elders' Council of Owahwa Kindred/Sub-clan with twenty-three members is headed by Sir Chief E.D.O. Obofukoro JP+ while the Strategy Committee of Owahwa Sub-clan has twelve members with Very Reverend Father Dr. Christopher Ekabo JP+ as Chairman.
On the lingering leadership crisis rocking the Federated Organisation of Owahwa Communities, FOOC, it says the controversial result of the election of President General of FOOC, alleged to have produced Chief Godwin Okporoko was set aside by the Meeting because his Community, Egbo-Ideh produced the former President of FOOC in the person of Chief Charley Ogbiru who handed the President of FOOC to the immediate past President, Olorogun Dr Oak O. Bere moreso due to irregularities, lack of transparency, violence as well as other vices that are alien to the constitution of FOOC. A new Election for the President General & other offices of FOOC will be conducted in no distant time.
It added that Communities that had previously occupied the Office of President of FOOC are hereby excluded from contesting the office of the President of FOOC and accordingly, only the Communities that have not held the Position of the President in the past are allowed to contest for the position of the President of FOOC until it has gone round all the Communities, this decision is taken in the spirit of Equity, Justice and Fairness.
It also says Positions such as Representative of FOOC in Community Development Board (C.D.B) in NEPL/NDW occupied by Chief Toma Okporoko or Members of Community Representative Committee of FOOC (C.R.C) occupied by those representing Owahwa Sub-Clan in the Nigerian Production Development Company (NPDC) now NEPL/NDW in the past Eight (8) years are hereby dissolved with immediate effect.
It directed the immediate past Leadership of FOOC headed by Chief Dr. Oak Oghenechovwen-Bere to render the Stewardship Report of his Tenure as President of FOOC in the past Eight (8) years.
It urged Indigenes of Owahwa Sub-Clan and Ughievwen at large should accord ultimate reverence and respect to the ancient Throne of Ughievwen Kingdom
