 RESIDENTS OF OWHAWHA COMMUNITY PROTEST, APPEAL FOR RELEASE OF CHIEF EMMANUEL CHOBOR, ARRESTED IN THE WAKE OF THE CRISIS Residents of Owhawha Community in Ughelli South LGA have appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to wade into the land dispute between them and Okwagbe Community and restore peace to the area. The residents who made this appeal during a peaceful protest in the community noted that the crisis has drastically affected the economy of the community. Speaking on behalf of the placard carrying protesters  the Unuevworo of the community, Chief Wilson Ohogbere, it's Chairman, Mr John Akpoveta and Youth President, Comrade Benjamin Holley appealed  to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to intevene and effect the release of one their Indigenes, Chief Emmanuel Chobor who was arrested in the wake of the crisis.  *BEDC refuses to connect transformer nst Happy Mene Road Ogorode Sapele 1year after, residents protest*  Sapele- Residents and business owners at Happy Mene Road Ogorode, Sapele in Sapele Local Government Area have staged a peaceful protest calling on the Delta State Government to prevail on the authorities of Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, to install the new transformer provided for them by Hon Efe Afe member  representing Sapele, Okpe and Uvwie federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.  RESIDENTS, TRADERS IN AGBARHO PROTEST AGAINST INCESSANT POWER OUTAGE Hundred of residents and traders in Agbarho Kingdom, Ughelli North Local Government Area on Wednesday staged a peaceful protest against epileptic power supply. As early as seven in the morning, residents and traders in Agbarho Community staged a peaceful protest round major streets of the community through to the busy East West Road by Agbarho Junction barricading part of the road and causing heavy traffic gridlock. The placard and leaves carrying protesters danced to the office of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, Agbarho. Some traders among the protesters, told BladeNews 24 that, they shut their shops to participate in the protest because they are tired of the epileptic power supply in the area. They noted that, inspite paying exorbitant electricity bill, they have to grapple with epileptic power supply which has crippled economic activities in the community. The 71st Annual Conference of the Agbarho people in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State started on Friday, with the President-General of Agbarho Improvement Union Chief Monday Odiprhi reeling out the achievements of the apex Agbarho body for the last one year. The conference which was well attended had in attendance delegates from the various Communities that make up Agbarho kingdom.   Enugu Community applauds Chevron Nigeria Staff on donation to indigent widows The people of Enugu Akwu Achi in Oji River Local Government area of Enugu State have commended the kind gesture by one of their illustrious sons, Mr. Victor Anyaegbudike, a staff of Chevron Nigeria Limited, who on Thursday 6 January 2022 donated bags of rice and cartons of noodles to over 150 indigent widows from the four components of the community. The Town Union President, Mr. Christian Iloma extoled the humanitarian attributes of the donor and thanked him for consistently supporting the socio-economic development of the community through the various programmes he had sponsored in recent past.
